Hell: Fact or Fiction, Part Two

"I'll be right there in hell with ya', buddy!"

Have you ever heard people joke about going to hell? Sometimes those statements make hell sound like it is going to be a big party with friends, but the Bible tells us that hell is entirely different than that.

Will we be able to think and know what is going on around us, in hell? Will we be able to remember our former life on earth?

In today's lesson, we answer these questions and find out what God has said about hell.

Hell: Fact or Fiction

What do you believe about hell? Do you think it is a real place that people will go to forever after they die?

A lot of people have their own opinions about hell and who it is for. Many of these people base their opinions on their own thoughts or the thoughts of others.

Here at Calvary Bible Church, we base our opinions on the Word of God. In today's lesson, we look at Scripture and see that hell is most certainly real and it will be for unsaved people for eternity. Eternity is a very very long time!

A frequent question that you may hear, is that if God is so loving, why would He send someone to hell forever? That is a good question, and we will answer that for you in today's lesson.

If you have any questions about how you can avoid hell, we would be glad to get back with you and help you understand how you can spend eternity in heaven.  Believe me, no one wants to go to hell. In the coming weeks we will see, from the Bible, exactly what hell is like.

Our Living Hope

Hope. What kind of hope does a Christian have? Can we hope in material things here on earth or in our government to help and protect us?

A Christian's hope is a living hope. What makes us a Christian, is believing in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, and that Jesus Christ is living in heaven right now with God waiting to come back to earth to take us up to heaven with Him.

In today's lesson, we look at the Word of God and see for ourselves how both the Old and New Testaments depicted Jesus' death and resurrection.

Can we have joy in these verses? Certainly, because the Bible says that if we have faith and believe in Jesus (whom we have not seen) we will be happy. We will be filled with the joy of God.

We won't have to worry when we come to the end of our life here on earth. When we believe in Jesus Christ and that he rose again for us, then we have the assurance in knowing that we will spend eternity, forever and ever, with God in heaven.

God: Fact or Fiction?

  1. Is God real?  The Bible reveals to us evidences that God is real. We just need faith to believe it.
  2. Now you may ask, well what is faith? Faith can be explained in believing in something that you cannot see.
  3. Why would God create me, what is my purpose here on earth? The Bible clearly explains why you and I are here.

In today's lesson, we look at the answers to these questions. Ultimately, it is up to you, to decide for yourself, whether you believe that God is real or not.

Friend, God just asks for you to trust His Word. If you trust that the Bible is true, then you have faith and believe that God is real.   Undoubtedly, it takes more faith to deny God that it does to believe in Him.

Superiority of the King James Version

Calvary Bible Church continues to be a King James Version only church. Why, after all these years, haven't we changed to a more modern version?

In this lesson, we look at how the King James Version came to be, and compare that with how the other translations started. We are reminded that "truth is not popular".

For this lesson, there are four free handouts that are jam-packed with information that you need to know. One, Two, Three, Four.
